The tower has several names including Tower 1A or Burj Dubai or Jumeirah Mosque Tower 2 because it was originally planned to be part of an Islamic mosque complex that would have included a large dome over its prayer hall. However, this plan never came through due to financial constraints so instead, they decided on building their own mosque instead called Jamarat Bridge Mosque which opened its doors back up again after almost five years since it had been closed down due to structural problems with some parts needing repair work done on them before opening back up again!
